Entroview raises funds from Covéa and its existing investors to equip insurance experts, garages and OEM dealers.
Paris, October 26, 2026 - Entroview, a deeptech startup specializing in electric vehicle battery diagnostics, announces its second funding round, led by Covéa, France’s leading motor and home insurer, alongside AFI Ventures, Ventech’s pre-seed and seed fund dedicated to Europe’s critical resources, Rethink Ventures and Exergon. This new round marks a shift to scale: Entroview is entering a phase of commercial deployment of its solutions to automotive aftermarket players.
With electrification, the battery has become the most expensive component of the vehicle, and the hardest to assess. Today, at the slightest doubt, it is removed, transported and then recycled, even though in the field, 80% of batteries are still in perfect condition. Insurance experts write vehicles off as total losses for lack of a reliable diagnosis, independent garages send customers back to the manufacturer, and OEM dealers bear warranty and logistics costs they could avoid.
Entroview puts an end to this costly chain: its solutions enable workshops to decide on site, within a few hours, whether the battery should be kept in service, repaired, replaced, reused or recycled.
Entroview offers two complementary solutions, covering diagnostics from the complete vehicle down to the module:
- EntrOBD diagnoses the pack under dynamic conditions, without removing it from the vehicle.
- Entrodiag analyzes removed modules with laboratory-grade precision.
Solutions proven in the workshop with Covéa and its technical center CESVI France
This investment is the culmination of hands-on collaboration with CESVI France, Covéa’s technical center. Its teams first tested Entroview’s solutions in their workshops, before integrating them into their daily operations: Entroview’s tool is used in CESVI’s battery safety certification training courses, to train professionals on real diagnostic data. Next step: CESVI plans to certify Entroview’s solution by early 2027, paving the way for its adoption by repair garages and end-of-life vehicle (ELV) centers.
For Entroview, being backed by an insurer is a game changer. Insurance is the starting point for most aftermarket decisions: it is the post-claim assessment that determines whether a vehicle is repaired or scrapped. By bringing battery diagnostics into this process, Covéa and Entroview are laying the foundations for an electric aftermarket where repair becomes the norm rather than the exception.
Equipping the entire industry: next steps
This funding round gives Entroview the means to deploy its solutions at scale in the field. After a claim, during repair or at end of life, insurance experts, mechanics, body shops, OEM dealers, dismantlers and recyclers will be able to reduce their logistics costs and find new revenue streams in the electric vehicle market.
Entroview has set itself concrete goals:
- Equip more than 1,000 garages and OEM dealers by the end of 2028 to make battery repair and reuse mainstream across Europe.
- Diagnose 50,000 batteries per year.
- By 2028, reduce by 30% the number of vehicles declared economic total losses after an accident among claims handled with its solutions, by focusing its efforts on the most demanding case: the accident-damaged battery.
“Assessing a battery after an accident is our Everest. We chose the hardest face, and that’s what convinced Covéa.” Sohaïb El Outmani, CTO and co-founder of Entroview
The funds will also support R&D, already protected by 4 patents, so that an insurance expert or repairer can know, within minutes and without dismantling the vehicle, whether an accident-damaged battery is safe and which module needs replacing. A key step toward repairing rather than replacing and reducing the cost of claims on electric vehicles.
“With CESVI and Covéa, we first worked together in the workshop, on real batteries. We share a common conviction: the battery from an accident-damaged vehicle is not a lost battery. Repairing or reusing it makes the aftermarket more resilient and electric mobility more sustainable.” Gaëtan Depaëpe, CEO and co-founder of Entroview
Convinced that the electric transition will be built together with every player in the industry, from insurers to workshops, Entroview intends to help structure a French circular economy sector for batteries, with the ambition of extending it across Europe.
About Entroview
Founded in 2021, Entroview is a deeptech startup developing solutions to diagnose and add value to lithium-ion batteries from the production, repair, claims or end of life of electric vehicles. Its technology enables a wide range of players (manufacturers, insurers, insurance experts, OEM dealers, garages and body shops, ELV centers) to repair, reuse and repurpose batteries rather than replace them prematurely. Its mission: to unlock the battery circularity market and create a diagnostic standard serving the entire aftermarket.
