China’s online gaming revenue reached 31.3 billion yuan ($5.1 billion) in the first six months of 2013, according to a report jointly released Wednesday by the China Game Publishers Association and the Internet Data Center.

The country’s mobile online gaming sector experienced a year-on-year growth of 119% in the first half, higher than growth in the Web and client-end online gaming sectors. The export revenue of China’s indigenous online game products reached 2.95 billion yuan in the first half, a year-on-year increase of 161.1%, which demonstrates a remarkable benefit from the ongoing boom in mobile and Web games, according to the report.
