ATEME in conjunction with Zeppit the SNG service provider tested ATEME’s 10 bit compression technology during the UEFA Champion’s league match. The game was encoded using the world’s first CM4101 Mpeg4 10-bit 4:2:2 encoder located in the outside broadcast truck provided by Zeppit and transmitted via satellite.

The uplinked service was decoded by the ATEME DR8400 Mpeg4 10-bit 4:2:2 Universal Receiver Decoder located in the MCR at Sky Brodcasting, UK. Tests were performed at different bit rates in order to evaluate video quality comparisons in Mpeg2 and Mpeg4.

ATEME were dilighted to participate in the tests with their partners, and demonstrate the capability of the 10 bit Contribution encoder/decoder pair live on air, at this prestigious event.
