Network-on-Chip (NoC) interconnect technology leader addresses bandwidth, latency, quality-of-service(QoS) and die size requirements for automotive systems-on-chip (SoCs).
Arteris Inc., the inventor and leading supplier of network-on-chip based (NoC) interconnect IP solutions, today announced that Mobileye, the global pioneer and leader in camera-based Driver Assistance Systems (DAS), licensed its network-on-chip interconnect IP to incorporate in its next generation EyeQ™ vision-based SoC for use in its next generation camera based automotive Driver Assistance Systems.
“Arteris’ network-on-chip interconnect IP allows us to reduce the die size of Mobileye’s 3rd generation vision processor, EyeQ3, optimize latency for critical IP blocks and reach timing closure much sooner than expected,” said Elchanan Rushinek, Vice President of Engineering, Mobileye. “We exhaustively benchmarked the Arteris NoC interconnect IP against the competition. We need real-time performance with extremely low latency between video IP blocks, and we found the Arteris NoC to be the best solution for EyeQ3. Furthermore, we found Arteris’ memory scheduler to be superior, with excellent Quality of Service in a smaller die area. With Arteris, our customers can be assured of responsiveness and reliability to help reduce collisions and make roads safer.”
Arteris NoC interconnect IP technology enables SoC designers to achieve lower power, smaller die area and optimized latencies by individual connections. This improves SoC performance, lowers SoC costs and enables rapid adoption of IPs communicating in a variety of protocols. The growing Arteris NoC-ecosystem provides connectivity to a variety of IPs and IP protocols as well as multiple EDA design flows. Use of the Arteris NoC IP simplifies the front-end design process while easing back-end routing congestion and timing closure issues.
Arteris network-on-chip interconnect products offers ability to reduce the number of interconnect wires required for SoC design. Reducing the number of wires resolves routing congestion at the back-end place-and-route stage, resulting in shorter development cycle time, less SoC complexity, smaller SoC area and less SoC power.
“Mobileye’s use of Arteris network-on-chip interconnect IP in their newest EyeQ automotive vision product is a ringing endorsement of our network-on-chip solution for SoC interconnect challenges,” said K. Charles Janac, President and CEO of Arteris.
“Mobileye’s adoption confirms the ability of Arteris’ network-on-chip technology to provide extremely low latency and QoS in the most mission critical real-time SoC products.”
Arteris, Inc. provides Network-on-Chip interconnect IP and tools to accelerate Systemon- Chip semiconductor (SoC) assembly for a wide range of applications. Results obtained by using the Arteris product line include lower power, higher performance, more efficient design reuse and faster development of ICs, SoCs and FPGAs.
